Cataract surgery is a procedure to remove the lens of your eye and, in most cases, replace it with an artificial lens. Normally, the lens of your eye is clear. A cataract causes the lens to become cloudy, which eventually affects your vision. Cataract surgery is performed by an surgeon on an outpatient basis, which means you don't have to stay in the hospital after the surgery. Cataract surgery is common and is generally safe.
During the evaluation of your eye health we will carefully examine your lens for signs of cataract formation. If a cataract is noticed and the clouding is causing visual disruption, we will refer you to a trusted and respected surgeon for surgery. Youngwood Eye Care will be there for you providing pre and post cataract surgery care.
